Higher solderability and reflectivity than MBB round ribbons, resulting in significant optical gain in the module, 0.3% improvement over conventional multi-grid products, and reduced cell occlusion and debris during welding. Suitable for use with automatic string welders, the interconnecting ribbon is welded to the main grid line of the cell and is used to connect the solar cells, collect and transmit the solar cell current.

The back side of the weld is welded to the back side of the cell using a flat strip with a thickness of ≤ 0.15mm, which is significantly thinner than the round wire strip; this allows for highly reliable micro interconnection of the cells.

The back side is more stable than the round wire and can be welded continuously without the need for flattening, thus reducing back deflection and hidden cracks in the cell.
